On June 12, 2023, Auxiliary Charter Member Betty Fritz was posthumously inducted into the Carroll County Auxiliary Hall of Fame. Ms. Betty, who passed away on August 26, 2021, spent a large portion of her life supporting and volunteering with the New Windsor Fire Department Auxiliary.

Ms. Betty was not only a charter member of the New Windsor Fire Department Auxiliary, where she served as the organization's president, chaplain, and historian. Ms. Betty remained an active volunteer with the auxiliary from over 72 years, serving from 1948 to 2020, when her activity was limite due to the CoVID-19 Pandemic. She was a constant presence around the fire department, whether is be helping out with Auxiliary fund raisers, the annual fire department carnival or assisting the fire department in any way possible. Her late husband Charles "Tooter" Fritz served as the Assistant Chief of the New Windsor Fire Department for over 32 years. Her son, Rick, actively serves with the department and is the current Vice President of the New Windsor Fire Department.

Congratulations Ms. Betty, on this long overdue and well deserved award, your presence around the station is definitely missed.
