Second Battalion Departments Conduct Rural Water Supply Training

By Chief Steve Kreimer
June 24, 2023

On Saturday, June 24, 2023, units from the Pleasent Valley Community Fire Company, Union Bridge Fire Department and the New Windsor Fire Department gathered to review rural water supply operations, and best practices to use when operating in a rural water environment. Rural Water Supply Operations involves accessing ponds, creeks, or underground tanks to bring or moving large volumes of water to a fire scene where a public fire hydrant system does not exist. The use of rural water supply operations is very common practice in Carroll County, as a large portion of land in Carroll County does not have readily accessible fire hydrants.

The New Windsor Fire Department would like to thank the Pleasent Valley Community Fire Company for setting up this training opportunity.

Units: E101, B105, SU6, Tanker 6 and ET84
