| Residents of The Reserve at New Windsor continued their longstanding support of the New Windsor Fire and Hose Company No. 1 this year, presenting the department with an $8,000 contribution to support its apparatus and equipment needs.
The annual effort reflects a strong relationship that has developed between the residents of The Reserve and the fire department. For several consecutive years, the community has supported the department as it works to provide emergency services to New Windsor and the surrounding area.
This year’s contribution will assist with the department’s ongoing apparatus replacement program, including investments associated with the new Brush 105 and the future replacement of Engine 101. Both projects represent significant investments as the department works to maintain modern and reliable apparatus capable of meeting the community’s emergency response needs.
The Reserve at New Windsor is one of the town’s newer residential developments. Construction began in 2016, and the 55+ active adult community has grown to include 83 attached homes. During that time, its residents have become valued supporters of the fire department and the greater New Windsor community.
Community support remains an important part of the volunteer fire service, particularly as the costs of purchasing, equipping and maintaining emergency apparatus continue to increase. Partnerships such as the one between The Reserve and the New Windsor Fire Department help strengthen the department’s ability to maintain the resources needed to serve the community.
The officers and members of the New Windsor Fire and Hose Company No. 1 extend their sincere appreciation to the residents of The Reserve at New Windsor for their continued generosity and commitment to the department.
